Angelia Orr is a Republican state representative serving her second term representing Texas House District 13, which covers Hill, Bosque, Falls, Limestone, Freestone, Leon, and portions of McLennan County in Central Texas. Born October 3, 1969, Orr is a fifth-generation Texan and small business owner. She earned a bachelor's degree in environmental design and architecture from Texas A&M University in 1992 and previously served as Hill County District Clerk (2010-2019) and Itasca school board member. Before entering the Texas House, she worked as a farmer, rancher, substitute teacher, and district director for State Representative Cody Harris. Orr defeated incumbent Albert Hunter in the 2024 general election with approximately 67% of the vote.
Angelia Orr was born October 3, 1969, in Texas and comes from a ranching family. She earned a bachelor's degree in environmental design and architecture from Texas A&M University in 1992. Before entering electoral politics, she worked as a farmer, rancher, and small business owner. She served as a substitute teacher and was a strong advocate for local public schools, serving on the Itasca school board for two terms as secretary. In 2010, she ran for Hill County District Clerk, winning a competitive three-person Republican primary and defeating a five-term Democratic incumbent. She served in that position from 2010-2019 before being encouraged by grassroots conservatives to run for the newly created Texas House District 13 in 2021. She was first elected in 2022 with 77.5% of the vote against Democrat Cedric Davis and was re-elected in 2024 with approximately 67% of the vote against Democrat Albert Hunter.
