Cindy Holscher is a Kansas State Senator from Overland Park in Johnson County. She has spent 26 years in Kansas and has been involved in politics for nearly a decade, beginning during the Sam Brownback administration. She was born in Missouri, grew up on a farm, and is a first-generation college graduate. Holscher has served two terms each in the Kansas House of Representatives and State Senate.
Holscher of Overland Park has been involved in Kansas politics since approximately 2015. She was elected to the Kansas House of Representatives in 2016, where she co-founded the Women's Bipartisan Caucus and helped repeal many of the policies implemented by former Governor Sam Brownback. She has served two terms in the House and is currently serving in the State Senate. She has polling showing her as the 'clear frontrunner' with a double-digit advantage among likely Democratic primary voters.
