Janet Dudding is a native of Bryan-College Station with deep roots in Texas. She earned her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi and her MBA from Millsaps College while raising children as a single mother. She began her career with the Texas State Auditor investigating government fraud and embezzlement, then worked as Budget Manager and Assistant Budget Director for the City of College Station. Her family relocated to Bryan-College Station after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 when her husband, James, joined Texas A&M University's Department of Civil Engineering faculty. She is a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, the Bryan-College Station Chamber of Commerce, the Arts Council of the Brazos Valley, and the College Station Noon Lions Club.
