Sara Rodriguez was born July 25, 1975 in Milwaukee metropolitan area. She graduated from Brookfield East High School and earned B.A. in neuroscience from Illinois Wesleyan University. She volunteered with Peace Corps in Samoa for two years and World Health Organization. She worked as registered nurse in ER at Mercy Medical Center Baltimore, then CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service (2004-2006), health care system executive in Colorado, and health care administrator roles. She returned to Wisconsin in 2011 and worked in health care leadership until running for Assembly in 2020.
