Pickens previously ran unsuccessfully for Idaho Lieutenant Governor in 2022, receiving 30.5% to Scott Bedke's 64.4%. She is running for governor on a platform of ending the 'dangerous and cruel supermajority' in Idaho politics and fighting for public schools, rural communities, and civil rights.

Background

Terri Pickens is a Pocatello native born and raised in Idaho. She graduated from Highland High School and earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Southern California (1994). She earned a J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law (1998). She is the founding partner of Pickens Law, P.A., which she established in 2008. She practices in real estate litigation, construction litigation, and general commercial litigation. She is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She has tried many cases in District Court and argued several appeals to the Idaho Supreme Court and Ninth Circuit. She ran for Idaho Lieutenant Governor in 2022 as the Democratic nominee, losing to Republican Scott Bedke 64.4%-30.5%.
