Dione Michelle Sims is a 2026 Democratic candidate for Texas' 25th Congressional District. She is the granddaughter of Dr. Opal Lee, known as the 'Grandmother of Juneteenth.' Sims has a background as a software quality development director and currently serves as president and founder of Unity Unlimited, Inc., a nonprofit focused on unity, understanding, and social justice. She has been instrumental in organizing major community initiatives with her grandmother, including the National Juneteenth Museum in Fort Worth and annual Juneteenth celebrations. Sims earned a bachelor's degree from Texas Wesleyan University in 1989 and has worked as an information technology professional.

Roger Williams is a 76-year-old Republican congressman who has represented Texas' 25th Congressional District since 2013. Born in Evanston, Illinois and raised in Fort Worth, Williams earned a degree in education from Texas Christian University and played college baseball. He was drafted by the Atlanta Braves and played in their farm system before becoming a small business owner and TCU baseball coach. Williams served as Texas Secretary of State from 2004-2007 under Governor Rick Perry. He is the Chair of the House Committee on Small Business and serves on the House Financial Services Committee. He is self-described as a Christian, conservative, pro-life and second amendment supporter.
